I bought this Maneki-Neko when I was at the Penang BonOdori last year which they will held it every year on the month of July. I won't be able to go this year. :(Maneki-Neko is the Japanese Beckoning Cat. "Neko" means cat in Japanese. When the right paw is lifted it means invites wealth or fortune and the left paw means invites people or customer.
That's why some shops display their maneki-neko in front of their shop. The most famous maneki-neko I've seen around here is the moving paw maneki-neko. In gold colour. It looks like the cat is calling you to go in the shops. This cat comes in various of colours and meanings. I found this interesting site here.
