LolitaWork & Kanon Wakeshima

Do you love LoliGoth Fashion?

Well I do, I love the fashion with a Victorian style dresses, laces, black + white + red, and of course they look super kawaii too. I got an email from LaCarmina regarding her new blog post of Kanon Wakeshima and she opened up a contest on her blog. So do check it out here. If you haven't know, Kanon Wakeshima is a Japanese singer & cellist. Cello is a great instrument and is one of which I wanna learn to play too, yea I wish. She loves to dress up like the lolita-gothic style which is very unique in my opinion. Cello + LoliGoth = Coolness. haha. Watch this mv below.

Samgak Kimbap & Onigiri

A few weeks ago, I watched Maangchi made this delicious looking samgak kimbap and wanted to make one, but problem is I don't have that special plastic wrapping they normally used, -.- nor do I know any nearby convenient store that sells Japanese/Korean goods around my area.

Finally I've tried out my first taste on samgak kimbap which I bought at the local supermarket food court..ha ha..It tastes goooooooddd okay eventhough it's only from the food court and not from a specific korean restaurant, well as long as I can taste it, ha ha ! I've had kimchi and chicken filling. And also bought this...I don't know what it is but the taste is almost FLAVORLESS! Samgak kimbap also remind me of Japanese's Onigiri. It's almost the same idea, rice wrapped with seaweed. Here's some cute Onigiri! Yea, maybe I can made this one.

Seoul, Korea. Seoul Is Happy. Seoul Is Passion

Places to go: SEOUL, KOREA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Korea is one of the place that I would really love to visit someday and experience it. Something about Korea that attracts me, the culture, the people, the intriguing hangul character, the korean language, authentic foods, fashion, entertainment and of course the ancient buildings/places/beautiful landscape. I am also an avid fan of K-dramas and also their k-pop-song-that-makes-you-wanna-learn-how-to-dance kinda feeling. Taeyang's Wedding Dress was like an addiction to me, seriously the dance move of it is really sleek, great music video too! What do you think?

Check out this beautiful ad of Seoul featuring Lee Byung Hun. This tv commercial will be aired in Japan.

Seoulはどうだった?

And these featuring the Wonder Girls, an advertisement for China. :)

I love watching K-dramas and also J-dramas. Recently, this drama had been aired on KBS2. If you like watching melodramatic kinda drama be sure to check this out. Usually, I might get bored watching this type of drama but this one is really good and I LOVED IT. Lots of emotions going on and I have to say that Moon Geun Young plays her character as "Eun Jo" a very very excellent job. It's like a different version of Moon Geun Young you'll see & "Ki Hoon oppa" is zeebessst ever!!!! ha ha XD

GREAT!

Art On A Cup

art or a cup of coffee?

For me, I like both! So yesterday, as I was *tumblr-ing* I came across this artworks that was hand drawn on a cup of Starbucks coffee! How cool is that? (I remembered what I did to my recycled painted can) which did not turn out well. :P Probably some of you guys would thought it was nothing fancy about, but I always love something that is random & creative. All this adorable, fun & lovable characters are looking so fancy on a cup of your favorite coffee, I still think it was a great work/illustration. I was just fainted by this adorable cuteness!!! ha ha just kidding. It was by tymm pronounced as "time" I guess. Simple things do come out to be big, truly inspiring & people let's recycle. ;P

Facebook, it's just getting creepier nowadays!

my goodness, but I think Facebook is getting a lot more creepier ever than before they started the site. To be honest, I like the old Facebook way back I don't know like 2004, 2005 or 2006 when I joined in. And what the heck is this news feed thing-y, like we get updates every single minutes from friends, em sometimes some of the updates I don't want to share with certain people but there it goes pop up and every time you comment on, other friends will get to read all your comments on certain topic, things + blah blah blah. I do feel it's kinda creepy. And half of the person I add in, I don't really know them. ha ha. Except for my boogers of d.c.m.f.e.r.s. ^_^

Privacy versus profit at Facebook

SAN FRANCISCO (AFP) – Facebook's evolution from online club house to Internet powerhouse is raising fears that the social network is trading privacy for profit.

The California company's recent move to become omnipresent with software "plug-ins" that let people's online communities follow them to any website is the latest iteration to raise hackles of privacy advocates.

When Facebook users visit websites with "open graph" plug-ins, on-screen windows show which friends from the social network have gone to those pages and what they had to say about them.

While Facebook co-founder Mark Zuckerberg touted the change as part of an inevitable shift to personalized and social online experiences some see it as creepy.

"The Web is at a really important turning point right now," Zuckerberg said while announcing the revamped platform at an f8 developers conference in San Francisco on April 21.

"We are building toward a Web where the default is social."

Privacy advocates maintain that Facebook is betraying members drawn to the service as a way to privately share their lives with friends.

"This is a transition from pretty good privacy to Facebook making categories of information available to construct business deals," said attorney Kurt Opsahl of Internet rights defense group Electronic Frontier Foundation.

"It seems that they want to go to sites and say 'We have this treasure trove of user information, what do you have?'," he continued.

The online social network that boasts more than 400 million members worldwide started in 2004 as a way for college friends to stay in tune with each other.

As Facebook's popularity soared it came under pressure to make money.

A Beacon advertising system that automatically shared Facebook users' online purchases with the website was abandoned after outrage about intrusion on privacy.

"It seems like this is the new and improved Facebook Beacon," Electronic Privacy Information Center staff counsel Ginger McCall said of the open graph.

"It was very much built on 'Here is this thing your friend liked, maybe you would like this too.'"

Facebook executives were adamant that this isn't a money grab, saying they built no revenue component into the open graph platform.

The website's online advertising model is expected to generate more cash as Facebook becomes a bigger part of people's lives.

The number of websites using Facebook social plug-ins has rocketed to more than 50,000 from just 75 when the feature launched.

Opsahl and McCall pointed out Facebook has not disclosed financial terms of deals with partners.

"Facebook is entering into business deals where the Facebook part of the transaction is user information and the other party's part is unknown," Opsahl said.

Even if partners didn't pay, Facebook is leveraging its access to user information to construct business deals, the attorney argued.

Facebook made it clear that friend information in windows at websites is for users' eyes only.

"It really has no privacy implications," Zuckerberg said at f8. "I think this means people will be sharing less information when they don't need to around the Web."

Facebook users have to be signed into the service for plug-ins to trigger and sharing requires people to click on icons.

Privacy advocates worry that outside websites could get Facebook information considered public, with gradual changes at the social network forcing more user data into that category.

For example, Facebook recently linked members' interests, such as bands or films, to "community" pages with rosters of backers deemed public.

Some suspect Facebook's drive for a social Web is really about behavioral targeting of online advertising.

"It is about making money," said analyst Rob Enderle of Enderle Group in Silicon Valley. "The privacy thing is secondary. Any service you get for free you are giving up something; in this case some aspects of your daily life."

Facebook paints a picture of its members enjoying an Internet where visiting any website was akin to entering a bar where everyone knows your name or a restaurant where servers know your tastes and preferences.

"I think the exposure is pretty minimal," Enderle said. "As far as we know, they are not selling your names to the Mafia. I think this is a tempest in a teapot. You have a choice, you don't have to use the website."

And so how does the people of Japan sees Facebook, look what my blogger friend, Kirin have to say here: Why Facebook Is Not Popular In Japan?

Hachiko

SO emotional week this have been.

I love dogs.
Have you heard of Hachiko Monogatari? well this movie was released in 1987 and Hollywood remake the movie again entitled Hachiko: A Dog's Story starring Richard Gere. It's about this loyal dog (the dog is an Akita), Hachi. Everyday Hachi would wait for his master to come back from work, at Shibuya Station, even when his master died, he still waits for him. :( So touching. Watch this clip:

designs by steppie!

Do you love pandas?
Cute little things?
Yes?

So, you're good to go with me now into "Steppie World" killing you with cuteness fosho!

I found Steppie on Etsy a few months ago, when my DCMF pen pal Caroline posted a tweet about how she wanted a panda hat! Absolute cuteness! I totally fall for steppie's artworks as well. It has been an inspiration for me again to grab my pen/brush/drawing material and get on to do something.

I love arts, ever since I was in primary school I always joined in any drawing competition just for fun of it, better still I'm having a good time drawing and coloring at that time. In high school, I participated in one of the design competition held by INTI College but our team did not win. We were making a big lotus flower out of recycled cans/items such as newspaper. It was crazy big, and carried it away with a truck! I love sending cards too to my friends, I made them cause I really like to create something at that time. I did thought of pursuing arts after high school cause I know that's what the best thing I could do. Anyhow, disappointingly I did not further my studies with art. I think t'was my biggest mistake ever. As I look at everyone now, they are so successful and happy but here am I still figuring what will happen with my life. (ha ha this is like spilling my heart out) Hm, that was some little info back!

Back to topic, check out steppie on ETSY!
And be a fan of steppie on facebook.

peace out peeps! =)

100 Yen Shop In Miri

100 Yen Shoppu.

First heard of this shop when I went to Kuching last year, and I saw this shop's banner. I will get very excited everytime I saw some Japanese or Korean banners like shops, restaurant and etc. So, I went in the shop in Kuching, they sells lots of Japanese foods, ramen, cute little containers and etc. It's quite cheap. But I ended up didn't buy anything.

And now 100 Yen is opening its branch in Miri...ahhhh...I'm so excited (not that I live in Miri) but it got nearer. Never been to this branch yet, but they got facebook. 100YenShopMiri

Check out any 100Yen Shop near you!
